The Netflix branch of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has often crept its way onto the Crooked Table, despite the fact that we so often prefer to cover the film side of things. Nonetheless, it’s hard to argue against the fact that shows like Daredevil, Luke Cage and *shudder* Iron Fist are worth discussion for moviegoers looking to tide themselves over until the Avengers’ next big-screen adventure.
However, perhaps the best — and certainly among the darkest — of these Marvel series is Jessica Jones. Season 1 expertly introduced viewers to the self-loathing, pissed-off charm of Krysten Ritter’s interpretation of the character. Grappling with themes like PTSD, rape and other forms of abuse, the series presented a comic book story like none other. Now, at last, Jessica Jones is back for its second year, right on the heels of its hero’s reluctant team-up with The Defenders. On behalf of We Got This Covered, I shared my thoughts on the show this week.
Head on over to We Got This Covered for my full written review of Jessica Jones season 2 and decide for yourself if you want to check it out.
